Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama says he will not politicise state institutions such as the judiciary and Electoral Commission if he becomes president again.
He says he will curtail the politicisation of these institutions through major constitutional reforms.
“I will curtail the excessive politicisation of our institutions—the Judiciary, the electoral commission, and other independent constitutional bodies—through major constitutional reforms,” he wrote on his X platform.
Mr Mahama further promised to provide a lean government.
“We will also rein in the phenomenon of bloated government and replace it with a much leaner one.
“Attendant governance costs, like payment of utility bills, fuel, and ex-gratia payments, will be cancelled,” he said.
