The Chief Executive Officer of the State Investment Fund, Abass Nurudeen has assured the Post-COVID-19 Skills Development and Productivity Enhancement Project (PSDPEP) will be sustained to achieve its full potential.
Speaking at the first quarter technical committee meeting on the Project in Aburi, Mr. Nurudeen assured stakeholders of his unwavering support for the project.
He expressed gratitude to the outgoing project coordinator for the experience he has offered him.
“I came into office as a new CEO and within the shortest possible time, the experience I have gathered from the project coordinator and the staff around indicates that the institution will have a brighter future. The lessons, the work ethics I have acquired from you will be a guiding light to me as I discharge my duties. PSDPEP will be a success under my leadership,” he stated.
Participating institutions included MASLOC, Ghana News Agency (GNA), Association of Small Scale Industries (ASSI), the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service, Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA), and the University of Ghana’s Schools of Nursing, Biotechnology, and Microbiology.
The Technical Committee reviewed and adopted the 1st quarter report of the PSDPEP project, highlighting achievements, challenges, and key lessons learned. The team also discussed and approved the 2nd quarter work plan, which outlines strategic activities aimed at enhancing skills development and boosting productivity, especially among youth and vulnerable populations affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The outgoing project coordinator, Emmanuel Fordjour, emphasized the need to ensure the success of the project.
According to him, the PSDPEP project continues to play a vital role in supporting Ghana’s economic recovery efforts by promoting sustainable livelihoods, improving employability, and increasing productivity across sectors.
He called on all stakeholders to continue supporting the project to better the lives of the ordinary Ghanaians.
“This meeting is imperative to make sure that strategies are put in place to support Ghana’s economic recovery efforts by increasing productivity, improving employability and promoting livelihoods. All stakeholders must embrace strategies to make PSDPEP a success to improve the lives of the ordinary Ghanaian,” Fordjour stated.
