One person is receiving treatment at the Police Hospital in Accra after a tree fell on his vehicle in front of the Kotobabi Police Station during a downpour on Tuesday, March 25.
The heavy rains, accompanied by strong winds, caused significant damage, including the collapse of the solar panel car park shed at the A&C Mall, which damaged more than 50 vehicles.
At the Accra College of Education, structures, including parts of a newly built washroom facility, were affected, with students losing some belongings.
However, no casualties were reported.
The SRC President of the Accra College of Education, Eric Kwasi Azong, told Citi News that the rain affected some dormitories and lecturers’ bungalows.
“We had some of the rain entering into some of the dormitories and then had to flood the dormitories which caused a lot of inconvenience to the students. As well as some of the roofs on some of the lecturers’ bungalows were taken off and then some carpenters are on site trying to fix the situation.”
