A bridge connecting Otuaplem and Kojo Ashong in the Amasaman Constituency is in a state of disrepair, causing anxiety among residents about potential dangers.
The current state of the bridge poses as a death trap. The situation becomes more worrying because with the rains, the Densu river seems to be rising.
This means very soon, the bridge will not be visible, and commuters will be unable to cross when the water overshadows the bridge that is in such bad state.
“I cross this bridge every day to get to school,” said a resident. “Lately, I’ve noticed some of the loose railings getting worse. I hope someone takes a look at it soon,” he added.
According to residents, there have not been any recent repairs on the bridge by local authorities.
The bridge’s condition is a growing concern, and residents are urging local authorities to take action to fix this death trap now. Otherwise, it is only a matter of time before something terrible happens.
