The newly appointed Ag. Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Dr. Bernice Makafui Brempong, has held discussions with senior management of the state investment promotion agency as part of her preparations to begin her tenure as CEO of GIPC.
In January this year, the Centre announced the appointment of Dr. Bernice Makafui Brempong as the successor to Mr. Yofi Grant, whose tenure ended on 30th December 2024.
This week, several media reports speculated that Dr. Brempong had been reassigned, paving the way for her replacement at the helm of GIPC. However, sources close to Dr. Brempong have refuted these claims, dismissing the reports of her replacement.
In a video widely circulated on social media, the CEO was seen holding her inaugural senior management meeting with leading directors at GIPC.
Other sources close to Dr. Brempong suggest that the reports about her replacement may have been fabricated for malicious reasons. They also noted that she had engaged with top auditing firms, such as KPMG, to lay the groundwork for her official assumption of office.
Dr. Brempong’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Ghana’s School of Pharmacy, a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship from University College London, and a Doctor of Pharmacy from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Before her appointment to GIPC, Dr. Brempong served as the Chief Executive Officer of Makhealth Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and has held leadership roles at Synergy Commodities Ltd. and D-Amphora Ltd.
