The management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko has lashed out at the Ghana Football Association for their handling of the fatal stabbing incident of Kotoko fan, Nana Pooley, during their matchday 19 clash against Nsoatreman.

In a meeting with the Ghana Football Association on Tuesday, Kotoko questioned the GFA’s decision not to launch a probe into Nsoatreman owner, Ignatius Baffour Awuah, who was arrested and charged by the Ghana Police for his role in the unfortunate incident.

Asante Kotoko IMC Chairman, Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awuah expressed the club’s pain and disappointment in the GFA’s handling of the situation.

“I was expecting that by this time the GFA would have probed into the whole situation including Ignatius Baffour Awuah who incited the fans against us.

“But you [GFA] are only issuing fines, to the extent you are fining people who were not even involved. It’s as if you don’t care. We are angry because it’s painful. It’s very painful,” he said.

Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak on Monday, presented a joint reform proposal to the GFA, where they demanded lion share of TV broadcast revenue, permanent seats on the GFA executive committee, among others.

The clubs expressed deep concerns about the current state of the league and emphasized the need for immediate interventions, particularly in the areas of security and club licensing regulations.
