BH-Fertagro Ghana Limited has been crowned Agribusiness of the Year 2024 by the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GNCCI) at the 5th Chamber Business Awards, held at the Accra International Conference Centre over the weekend. This marks the company’s second consecutive win in the category.
The award celebrates BH-Fertagro’s exceptional contribution to Ghana’s agricultural transformation through innovation in fertiliser blending and distribution, strong partnerships with farmers, impactful corporate social responsibility initiatives, and its commitment to sustainable agribusiness practices.
Receiving the honour, management of BH-Fertagro expressed gratitude to the GNCCI for the recognition and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s food security and agribusiness value chains. The company pledged to continue improving crop yields, creating jobs, safeguarding livelihoods, increasing farmer resilience, and promoting environmental sustainability.
Speaking to the media after receiving the award, the Managing Director of BH-Fertagro Ghana Limited, Mr Robert Kwabena Ayitey, said the company remains dedicated to delivering profitable agricultural input solutions that positively impact both people and the planet.
The Chamber Business Awards recognise excellence, innovation, and ethical leadership across Ghana’s private sector. This latest recognition further cements BH-Fertagro’s position as a key player in advancing agricultural growth and industrial competitiveness in the country.
As part of its corporate social responsibility, BH-Fertagro has donated over GH¢90,000 worth of fertilisers and assorted items to the Nsawam Prison Complex to support farming and inmate maintenance. During the 2023 Akosombo Dam spillage, the company also provided more than GH¢100,000 worth of relief items to affected communities in Mepe, Bator, Sogakope and surrounding areas.
Currently, BH-Fertagro is funding an irrigation project worth over GH¢100,000 at the Nsawam Prison to support year-round farming activities.
