The Paramount chief of Buipe Traditional Area, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor II, has eulogized the former Savannah Regional Minister Adam Salifu Braimah for his key role in restoring peace in Gonjaland.

The Buipewura while acknowledging the National Security Minister Albert Kan Dapaah for his role in the peace of the country, the also praised the former Savannah Regional Minister for the part he played in settling all chieftaincy related disputes in the region.

“I want to thank you Mr. Kan Dapaah for your role in maintaining peace in Ghana, but specifically I want to thank the former Savannah Regional Minister for the peace we are enjoying in the region.”

“When he assumed office, Bole, Damongo, Kafaba and most parts of the region had two chiefs which created tensions. But I’m happy to inform you that today, almost all these areas have one chief which is a significant achievement, and we are happy,” he said.

He assured that the Gonja Traditional Council and the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs will work together with all stakeholders to ensure that the peace in the region is maintained before, during and after elections 2024.

“Let me assure you that Savannah Region will be the peaceful region in thisyear’s election because we understand the values of diversity in politics,“ he stated.

For his part, National Security Minister Albert Kan Dapaah courted the support of traditional authorities for a peaceful election 2024.

“You, traditional authorities are a key stakeholder in the peace process and that’s why we need your collaboration to maintain peace in the country, “ Mr Dapaah said.

He acknowledged the role of the security services in maintaining peace in the country.

“We need to respect the security services because they have been up to task in ensuring we go to sleep with our eyes closed. Any attack of any security is a disrespect to the nation,” he said.

The National Security Minister and Chieftaincy Minister are on a two-day working visit to the Northern and Savannah regions.
