On February 23, 2025, Galaxy International School once again proved its commitment to fostering global unity by hosting its annual Inter-Cultural Festival.

This year’s edition, the 19th in its history, was held under the theme “Diversity in Harmony: The World as One” and emphasized the importance of embracing cultural differences as a means of ensuring peace and harmony worldwide.

The event was telecasted on Joy Prime, reaching a wider audience beyond the school’s premises.

The festival was graced by several high-profile personalities, including the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie; Member of Parliament for Adenta, Mohammed Adamu Ramadan, and musician Okyeame Kwame. Also present were parents, students, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the beauty of cultural diversity.

The Inter-Cultural Festival has become an integral part of Galaxy International School’s calendar, serving as a platform to highlight the richness of various cultures while promoting tolerance and unity. Through vibrant performances, cultural displays, and engaging conversations, the event showcased the unique heritage of different countries and encouraged participants to appreciate the world’s diversity.

Speaking at the event, Minister Dzifa Gomashie likened global unity to the art of weaving. She stated, “Just as a skilled weaver carefully crafts each thread into a beautiful textile, so too can the global community weave together the fabric of a better world. Each thread represents a unique individual, a diverse culture, and a different belief.”

A major highlight of the festival was an interactive session where students and parents from different countries shared insights into their cultures in a casual interview with young presenter Cayla. The session provided a unique opportunity for attendees to learn about the traditions, customs, and special attributes of various nations.

A young boy from Sri Lanka proudly spoke about his country’s reputation as one of the world’s top tea producers, stating that Sri Lanka is the fourth-largest tea exporter globally. Another student from India expressed admiration for the richness of her country’s culture, while a Pakistani student excitedly mentioned that “everything in my country is cheap,” emphasizing affordability as a unique feature of Pakistan.

Adding to the excitement, another student from Sri Lanka highlighted the warmth and friendliness of his people, stating, “Everyone in my country is nice.” A man from Pakistan also shared his deep appreciation for his country’s cultural heritage, while a young woman from Azerbaijan enthusiastically spoke about the exciting tourist attractions her homeland offers.

The festival was a moment of celebration and also a strong reminder of the need for global citizens to respect and appreciate each other’s cultural identities. Through music, art, dance, and dialogue, the event showcased how different cultures can coexist harmoniously while enriching the human experience.

Galaxy International School’s Inter-Cultural Festival continues to serve as a powerful symbol of unity, respect, and global collaboration, proving that despite our differences, the world can indeed thrive as one. The event concluded on a high note, leaving participants inspired to embrace diversity and foster cross-cultural friendships.
