The Golden Bean Hotel, a distinguished hospitality establishment located in the heart of Kumasi, has marked its 10th-anniversary celebration with a series of events that showcased its commitment to excellence and community engagement.

Held under the theme: Celebrating 10 Years of Excellent Hospitality, the celebrations commenced with a vibrant float through the principal streets of Kumasi on Wednesday, 31st July 2024, where staff members shared their joy with the people of the Ashanti Region. A grand dinner was held the next day to show appreciation to the hotel’s stakeholders for their continuous support and loyalty. The hotel then organized inter-departmental games to boost staff morale and foster unity. Additionally, the event featured health screenings and a blood donation drive for the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital blood bank. The hotel also made significant donations to two orphanage homes in Kumasi and culminated the celebrations with a heartfelt thanksgiving service at St. George’s Church in Kumasi on Sunday, 4th August 2024.

10th Anniversary Dinner

The 10th-anniversary celebration was climaxed with a grand dinner. It was a scintillating event attended by the hotel’s management, staff, guests/customers, partners, board members, and its mother company, the Produce Buying Company (PBC), who gathered to savor the delicious food, refreshing drinks, and dance to good music, creating a memorable experience for all attendees.

In his welcoming address, the General Manager of the Golden Bean Hotel, Randy Attuquaye Clottey, reflected on a decade of excellence. He highlighted the hotel’s growth and numerous accolades, including being recognized as the best 3-star hotel, Outstanding Hotel of the Year, Fastest Growing Hotel of the Year, and Best Food and Beverage Hotel, all in retrospect to its 10 years of existence.

Clottey attributed these achievements to the incredible management, board, staff, guests, partners, and the mother company PBC, and expressed gratitude to them for their trust and support. “We plead with you to constantly come, and remain loyal to the Golden Bean brand so together we can create a community of mutual trust and respect.”

He also announced that the hotel is in a position to declare a dividend for the first time and plans to expand its room numbers, showing optimism for the future and a commitment to providing exceptional experiences.

The chairperson for the occasion, Mrs. Elizabeth Agyemang, former Deputy Minister of the Ashanti Region, who was represented by Mrs. Henrietta Beatrice Owusu Ansah, praised the hotel’s service and expressed hope for its continued growth. “Personally, I’ve been here on a few occasions and I can attest to the fact that your services are unmatched. Bravo to all those who have contributed their quota to this beautiful edifice and we pray for much more success in the future.”

Board Chairman of the hotel, Paul Adu Gyamfi, in his remarks, acknowledged the hotel’s creation of a unique experience that blends the rich culture of Ashanti. He expressed optimism for a bright future and a commitment to continuous improvement.

On his part, Kwaku Nkansah, CEO of PBC, highlighted Golden Bean’s financial independence and its significant contribution to PBC’s diversified portfolio. He expressed gratitude to Asanteman for their support and hoped for positive growth in the years ahead.

The night concluded with awards for long-serving and pioneering staff, followed by the cutting of a giant 10th-anniversary cake, marking the beginning of many more positive years ahead.

Donation to 2 orphanage homes

It was all joy and smiles on the faces of inmates at the Remar Ghana Orphanage Home and the Perfect Peace Orphanage Home when the management team and staff of the Golden Bean Hotel arrived at both facilities to hand over the items. Madam Mary Bonsu, CEO of Perfect Peace Foundation and Irene Ammisah, Mother of the Remar Ghana respectively represented the 2 homes to receive the items which included sets of bed linens, towels, detergents, hot meals, and packs of water.

They both expressed their gratitude to Golden Bean Hotel for their continued support, noting that the hotel regularly provides such assistance and called on corporate Ghana and individuals to emulate this example.

Speaking to the media, the General Manager of Golden Bean Hotel, Randy Attuquaye Clottey, emphasized the importance of giving back to society, especially to orphanages, which he described as particularly vulnerable.

He acknowledged that the journey over the past decade has not been without challenges, but strategic positioning in the Ashanti Region has been key to their success. The hotel, which started with 8 rooms, now boasts of 51 rooms and has plans for further expansion with support from the board and the mother company, the Produce Buying Company (PBC).

“Golden Bean Hotel is a place to visit. Services here are affordable. We don’t extort from guests. Value for money is what we constantly invest in. As our slogan goes, ‘hospitality beyond expectations’ is rest assured,” Clottey stated.

Maame Ama Asantewaa Adjem, the Sales and Marketing Manager in an interview expressed her joy as the hotel reached this significant milestone. She highlighted the importance of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, emphasizing that helping the less fortunate is a core value of the hotel.

“Celebrating the entire 10th anniversary with staff, guests, partners, board/management, and our mother company, the PBC, is gratifying. This shows we are a united and trusted brand. We won’t rest on our oars but will continue to give our best service. For us, it’s not just about making sales, but the kind of experience we give to our guests. It’s our desire that anybody who comes here leaves with an experience,” Mrs Adjem remarked.
