Former Minority Leader and Member of Parliament for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu, has urged Ghanaians to use the December 7 general elections to express their disapproval of the economic hardship that has plagued the country under the New Patriotic Party (NPP)-led government.

Speaking at the Upper West regional campaign launch of the NDC in Wa on Saturday, Mr Iddrisu said the country is witnessing an all-time economic crisis that has crippled many businesses and worsened the living standards of the populace due to mismanagement and widespread corruption within the Nana Addo-Bawumia led government.

Ahead of the Upper West regional NDC campaign launch in Wa, Mr Iddrisu and some national executives of the party joined a heralding crowd of supporters to embark on a peaceful procession in the town, terming it as a walk for change to reset Ghana.

The group went through the principal streets of Wa amidst drumming and dancing, holding placards with inscriptions on key campaign policy statements of the party such as their 24-hour economy proposal.

They later converged at the Tendaamba School with a mammoth rally to launch the Upper West regional campaign.

Deputy National Communications Officer of the NDC, Malik Basintale, chastised some government officials, accusing them of superintending over wanton corruption. He also reiterated the commitment of the NDC to prosecute an agenda to empower women in their next administration.

The Upper West regional chairman of the NDC, Mohammed Nasir Saani, called on the rank and file of the party to remain united and work together to maintain their dominance in the region.

The occasion was also used to outdoor their parliamentary candidates.
