Ibrahim Osman experienced immense joy and fulfillment after receiving an honourable call-up to the national team.
The 19-year-old, who has been in stellar form for FC Nordsjaelland in Denmark, saw his impressive performances rewarded with a place in the Black Stars squad.
Osman, a graduate of Ghana’s renowned Right to Dream Academy, quickly became a key player for the Danish giants after moving to Denmark. Filling the void left by compatriot Ernest Nuamah, who transitioned to the French Ligue 1, Osman has made a name for himself in the Danish SuperLiga.
Ghana’s head coach Otto Addo included Osman in his first squad upon returning as the national team’s tactician. In March 2024, the young forward was among the promising talents selected for Ghana’s friendly matches against Nigeria and Uganda.

Reflecting on his national team debut, Osman shared his initial nerves and eventual realisation of the achievement. “I was quite nervous but people have been telling me ‘you’ll play at [in] the national team’ so I wasn’t really sure about it. So when I got there that was when I realized that, it was real. I am on the national team. 19-year-old at the national team it was crazy,” Osman told 3Sports’ Yaw Ofosu Larbi.

Osman’s remarkable season with FC Nordsjaelland saw him net six goals and provide seven assists in 29 league games, attracting interest from top European clubs. Ultimately, he decided to join Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League, where he is set to reunite with fellow Ghanaian Tariq Lamptey.
