King Faisal Head Coach Prince Acheampong, popularly known as ‘Sabuto,’ has died after battling an illness.

The 52-year-old had been hospitalised for several days but could not survive the undisclosed ailment.

Acheampong was appointed in January 2025 by the In Shaa Boys, replacing Barnabas Awuni, who was sacked due to the club’s jerky start to the ongoing Division One League.

He previously worked with Asante Kotoko, Dunkwa United, and Fabulous Ladies FC.

Among his achievements was leading Opoku Ware School (OWASS) to a third-place finish in the 2024 Ashanti Regional Inter-School boys soccer competition and clinching the Ashanti Regional Inter-School title three times with T.I. Ahmadiyya SHS.
