President John Mahama has revealed that some suspects involved in the National Sports Authority (NSA) financial scandal have absconded.

Speaking during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) in his second term on Thursday, February 27, in Parliament, he stated that he had directed security agencies to declare them wanted.

According to the President, those implicated in the scandal must be held accountable, as state resources cannot be looted with impunity.

“Such brazen stealing of state resources should not go unpunished,” he emphasised, vowing that his government would ensure that justice is served.

Mahama assured Ghanaians that his administration remains committed to fighting corruption and strengthening institutions to prevent financial mismanagement.

He reiterated that efforts were already underway to track down the absconded suspects and bring them before the law.

The President further urged all relevant authorities to cooperate in retrieving stolen funds and preventing similar occurrences in the future.

He assured the nation that his government would not tolerate corruption, promising strict enforcement of laws to protect public resources.
