Following in his father’s footsteps, 15-year-old Matthew Amoah Jr. has signed his first professional contract with Dutch powerhouse Feyenoord.

The attacking midfielder will be with the club until 2027.

Amoah Jr. has been climbing the ranks at Feyenoord’s academy and is now set to continue his development under the club’s experienced eye.

“I am very proud to have signed my first contract with Feyenoord,” he said. “I have been playing for the club since I was a young boy and have worked towards this wonderful moment all these years. Next season I want to take the next step in my development and I hope to be important for my team again by giving assists and scoring goals,” he added.

His father, Matthew Amoah, had a successful career in the Netherlands, playing for teams like Vitesse and NAC Breda. He also impressed on the international stage, scoring 12 goals for Ghana’s Black Stars.

This is a major step for the young Amoah Jr. He has the potential to carve his own path in professional football, perhaps even surpassing his father’s achievements.

The elder Amoah participated in two World Cups and three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments during his illustrious career.
