President John Mahama has made a commitment to enhance the welfare and working conditions of both active military personnel and civilian staff within the armed forces.

Addressing the graduation ceremony of officer cadets at the Ghana Military Academy on Friday, April 11, he highlighted his administration’s dedication to ensuring that the sacrifices made by service members are recognised and rewarded promptly and fairly.

“To our military personnel and civilian staff, I am committed to improving your conditions of service in a structured manner. Your dedication and sacrifices are deserving of recognition,” he said.

He also took the opportunity to reaffirm the government’s commitment to retired personnel, assuring them that their retirement benefits would be paid in a timely manner, in recognition of the significant contributions they have made to the nation.

Acknowledging the vital role of the armed forces in ensuring the stability and development of the country,

President Mahama reassured the gathering that efforts were ongoing to provide the armed forces with the necessary resources to meet their professional and operational needs.
