Davido claimed his father informed him during a conversation with some of the star-studded attendees at the event that he would be switching from secular music to gospel music.
“My dad told me, ‘David, I had a vision that you ended your music as a gospel singer,’” Davido revealed in the now-trending video.
One of the guests responded to this by yelling, “So shall it be!” while a few more people chanted “Amen!”
The highly anticipated white wedding was held at Lagos, Nigeria’s Eko Hotel on Tuesday, June 25.
Davido knelt before Chioma’s parents as part of the customary Igbo marriage traditions, asking for their approval and their daughter’s hand in marriage as well as their assurance that he would love and protect her.
The singer also expressed his gratitude to Chioma’s parents for entrusting him with their daughter, promising to make them proud and honour their trust.
Davido and Chioma’s wedding captured social media with a buzz and generated conversations marking one of the luxurious and elegant weddings to have ever happened in Nigeria.
