Mohammed Kudus insists his entertaining style of play remains his identity which won’t change even as he looks set to play under a new manager at Wst Ham United.
Kudus, 23, has enjoyed an impressive career since he broke into the European scene.
Known for his dribbling skills and mazy runs, the midfielder took the Premier League by storm in his debut season when then West Ham manager David Moyes brought him to the Hammers.
Under the guidance of Moyes, the midfielder settled in well and ended the Premier League season with eight goals and six assists.
However, with West Ham appointing former Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui, Kudus has revealed how he’s going to keep the same playing style under the new head coach.
“Personally my style of play will always stay the same,” he said.
“I’ll need to blend in and do what the coach wants, give the team the results they want but I’m still going to be me and the stuff you see me doing is still going to be the same just under a different coach,” Kudus said.
The former Ajax star however was quick to acknowledge how difficult it is to play under different managers because of the different system each brings.
Mohammed Kudus: I’m proud of Issahaku’s journey so far
“It’s definitely very difficult to get used to every system every single time. Even playing with the club team and national team different coaches as well.
As part of our job, being versatile to be able to adapt to different kinds of coaches is a main key that we have to be always up for so whichever coach that comes,” he added.
On Saturday, Kudus crowned his amazing season with the Ghana Football Player of the Year award, winning it in successive seasons.
