The Ministry of Roads and Highways, through the Ghana Highway Authority, has commenced the installation of crash barriers at key locations to improve road safety across the country.
The ongoing works are taking place along the Koforidua–Mamfe–Aburi Highway, the Brimso Bridge, and at two critical points near the Achimota Forest at the Dimples Roundabout.
These efforts follow the successful completion of similar installations on the Aburi–Nsawam stretch, which have significantly enhanced safety and reduced accidents along that corridor.
The contractor, Messrs Hacianda Enterprise Ltd, has been formally handed over the sites and has begun the necessary works.
The installation of crash barriers forms part of a broader strategy by the Ministry to protect road users and reduce fatalities and injuries on Ghana’s highways.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution when driving through active construction zones.
The Ministry and the Ghana Highway Authority have expressed their appreciation to the public for their cooperation and support as these vital safety enhancements are carried out.
