Sallah Feast: Onua Foundation feeds underprivileged Muslim children

Hundreds of children, who were mostly Muslims in the society have benefited from Onua Foundation Sallah Feast in Accra.

The children turned out in their numbers at the National Mosque to make merry on the first evert Sallah Feast organized by Onua Foundation, a subsidiary of Media General Limited.

The initiative forms part of Onua brands Corporate Social Responsibility to its cherished viewers and listeners.

The children were fed with assorted softy drinks, food and made merry. There were chorographic performances from children from the National Mosque.

The Director for Onua Foundation, Abu Issa Monnie during his opening remarks said, “with your incredible support, we have cooked for over 2,000 deserving individuals, ensuring no one leaves hungry”.

“Beyond the meals, our playground is buzzing with activities and games, designed to bring smiles to the faces of our young guests”, he added.

Mr. Monnie said “this event embodies the spirit of compassion and generosity that defines our foundation and the Office of the National Chief Imam. Thank you to our volunteers, donors, and participants for making this day possible”.

“Let’s create lasting memories and spread kindness, making a positive impact on our communities. Together, we are stronger and capable of making meaningful change. We pray for a peaceful event and ask Allah to bless our day. Asalamu Alaikum”, he added.

Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama is one of the key people who contributed towards the programme.

His former Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Mustapha Abubakar, speaking on his behalf at the event lauded Onua brand for organizing the programme to cater for the less privileged.

He said the former President was touched by the gesture to support the event. Mr. Abubakar said all the fingers are not equal so the former President will be willing to support such programmes in order to support the less privileged in society.

He urged the privileged in society to support such initiatives.
