The Swedru School of Business (SWESBUS) has confirmed that students captured in a viral assault video are currently with law enforcement agencies, as the school pledges firm sanctions following ongoing investigations.
In a statement issued Wednesday, the school said it was addressing the public over “the recent incident captured in a video circulating on social media, which shows an assault involving some of our students and a student from our sister school, Obrachire Senior High School.”
Management, staff and students of the school described the incident as disturbing and unacceptable.
“We are deeply disturbed by this unfortunate incident. The conduct displayed in the video is unacceptable and does not reflect the values, principles, and standards of discipline upheld by Swedru School of Business,” the statement said.

“It is contrary to the school’s Code of Conduct as well as the regulations of the Ghana Education Service (GES).”
Condemning the act outright, the school reiterated its commitment to discipline and character formation.
“As an institution committed to academic excellence, character formation, and responsible citizenship, we strongly condemn this act. We do not condone violence or any behaviour that undermines the safety, dignity, and well-being of others.”
The statement included an extensive apology to affected institutions and stakeholders.

We also extend our sincere apologies to the general public.”
Management confirmed that security agencies are actively involved in the matter.
“Management is collaborating fully with the appropriate security and law enforcement agencies to ensure that due process is followed, as the students involved are currently with the law enforcement agencies.”
The school assured the public that disciplinary action will follow the investigations.
“We assure the public that appropriate sanctions will be applied based on the outcome of ongoing investigations.”
Beyond sanctions, the school pledged to strengthen preventive systems to avoid future occurrences.
“Swedru School of Business remains committed to strengthening guidance, counselling, and disciplinary measures to prevent any recurrence of such incidents.”
It added that efforts will be intensified to build stronger values among students.
“We will continue to intensify character education and promote a culture of respect, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among our students and other students.”
The school appealed for calm as authorities complete their work.
“We appeal to the public to remain calm and allow the appropriate authorities to complete their work. We are dedicated to maintaining a safe and disciplined environment that fosters learning and mutual respect.”
