Watch: How the shooting of two National Guard members unfolded
Two National Guard members are in critical condition after being shot in Washington DC, FBI Director Kash Patel has confirmed.
Police say the suspect is in custody and the area near the White House has been secured.
Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth says President Donald Trump has called for 500 additional guard troops to be deployed to the capital following the attack.
