Child Advocacy group, Child Rights International is disappointed that Police in the Northern Region granted bail to a mallam at Kakpayili near Tamale in the region after he confessed to killing eight children and keeping their dismembered bodies in his house
The comment comes as the police say it has commenced investigations into the killing of two children at Kakpayili a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region
parents of the two children and residents of Kakpayili, remain in a state of shock and anger following the discovery of the dead bodies almost decomposed in a vehicle chopped into pieces at the residence of one Mallam Madaha, a spiritual leader in the area.
The bodies of the deceased children who reportedly went missing on June 22, 2024 have since been deposited at the Tamale Teaching Hospital morgue for autopsy. The Malam who was arrested on sunday has already been granted bail and his whereabouts are unknown after allegedly confessing to killing 6 other children.
Speaking to Beatrice Adu on the Midday News on 3FM, Mr. Bright Appiah said the Police could have done better.
