Zera Mission Africa, a non-governmental organization, as part of their mission to promote a clean environment, good health and socio-economic development, has launched a sanitation initiative in Ahafo, Bono and Bono East regions.
It has earlier held workshops for teachers to provide training and support to enhance education in the local communities, a surgical support scheme for the needy, free medical screening to identify health issues and early intervention, among others.
Additionally, a free medical screening has been conducted for more than 600 residents of Makala and Fawoman communities, boreholes have been constructed in Dompofie and Makala communities to solve their water challenges.
Some women’s groups have been supported with an amount of 90,000 cedis as part of our mission to reduce poverty among residents in rural communities, while some orphanages have also received funds for their daily upkeep, including feeding, education and other needs.
Bright Debrah, Zera Mission’s Africa Coordinator for Ahafo, Bono and Bono East regions, said that based on the results of the health screening conducted in some communities, it highlighted the need for proper sanitation and hygiene practices, which triggered the sanitation exercise in our sanitation campaign.
In an interview with JoyNews in Goaso, on the positive impact of a recently held clean-up exercise in Banda Gbao, he noted that the initiative demonstrates their commitment to improving the lives of people in local communities and bringing smiles to them.
Mr Debrah entreated major stakeholders in the regions to embark on regular education on proper usage and maintenance of infrastructure and resources provided by the organization to attract further assistance.
The Coordinator enjoined the beneficiaries of the organisation’s various projects and resources to make prudent use of them to yield better results in their lives.
Mr Debrah also assured that the organization’s initiatives are in phases and that those yet to benefit residents in the three regions must exercise restraint and wait patiently for their turn.
“Our mission is to demonstrate the love of Christ to mankind by equipping and resourcing them in their economic, social and emotional needs, especially those in remote areas”, he reiterated.
The Coordinator stated that it is the vision of Zera Missions Africa to fulfill the great commission by Christ to his followers to support the sick and vulnerable, prisoners, orphans and widows, the aged and the very needy in life among other situations.
