The son of Ghanaian billionaire Ibrahim Mahama, Michael Amer, has earned a place in Ghana’s squad for the U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
The attacking midfielder, who plays for Tema-based Nice Ibrahim Sporting Club, appears to have impressed the technical team with his skill and creativity.
His selection follows the final phase of intensive training held at the Accra Sports Stadium ahead of the tournament.

Amer joins his colleagues who are eager to showcase their talent on the big stage.
While his father is known for his success in business and industry, Michael is focused on building his own name in football as the team targets a fourth U-20 AFCON title and qualification for the World Cup.
Ghana has been drawn into Group C alongside Senegal, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and the Central African Republic.
The tournament kicks off on April 27 and ends on May 18, 2025.
All four semifinalists will qualify to represent Africa at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
