Matta Devi School has emerged winner of the fifth edition of the Luv FM Primary Schools Quiz, settling the competition with a tie-breaker.
The second-time finalist outsmarted the first-time finalist, St Louis Jubilee School, by a three-point margin to clinch the enviable trophy as the best primary school in the quiz competition in the Ashanti region.

The one-time winner of the competition, Divine Mission Academy, came in third with 41 points.
The Luv FM Primary Schools Quiz contest began with each school munching on some English words in the Spelling Bee round.
As a bird let loose, Divine Mission Academy soared at the end of the first round, but could not keep their pace as St Louis Jubilee clipped their wings in the second round.

The contestants from Divine Mission led the round with 13 points, Matta Devi with 11, with St Louis trailing with 10 points.
With their gaze fixed on the grand prize, the first-time finalist, St Louis Jubilee, did not relent as they managed to close the gap in the second round of the final contest.

But their points could not push them forward to whisk away the trophy and claim the title.
Leaving no stone unturned, Mata Devi, with 45 points in a tie-breaking point, ousted St Louis Jubilee with 42 points to win the competition.
Excitement and a sense of fulfillment filled the hearts and faces of the students of the school.
Matta Devi Basic School is confident of retaining the title next year.

“We nearly lost in the second round, but the speed race aided us. We promised ourselves to take the trophy and we are excited to win this year. We will be back stronger next year,” they said.
Meanwhile, St Louis Jubilee is promising a fierce comeback in the next edition with adequate preparation and motivation.

“We came with the aim to win. And may not now, but soon. Next year we are coming up bigger and better,” they said.
The three contestants from Mata Devi School will enjoy cozy benefits from sponsors, including cash prizes, medals, tablets, stationery, educational materials and a TV set for the school.
From over 60 auditioned schools to 36 selected schools, event organiser Eric Nkum disclosed the intention to expand participation to spice the competition in the next edition.

Organizers of the Luv FM Primary Schools Quiz, acknowledging support from sponsors, are delighted at the success the 2025 competition has chalked.
“This edition has been one of the best in terms of organization. It was amazing with the brilliance of these children. The success today is why we want to expand the scope. I can’t mention all of our sponsors, but their support has been enormous,” he said.
