President John Mahama is set to introduce a stringent Code of Conduct for all government appointees today, Monday, 5 May 2025, as part of his administration’s 120‑day Social Contract commitments.
Announcing the development, the Minister in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, described the coming week as “a pivotal moment for the government’s reform agenda.”
In a Facebook post on Sunday, 4 May, he explained that the code was first unveiled during the ministerial swearing‑in ceremony and is intended to clarify ethical expectations for public office‑holders.
According to Mr Kwakye Ofosu, the new guidelines will “spell out the dos and don’ts of public service, eliminating ambiguity and reinforcing the administration’s commitment to integrity.”
He added that the Code of Conduct will serve as a cornerstone for accountability, guiding appointees’ behaviour across all sectors of government.
“This week begins with the unveiling of a strict Code of Conduct to regulate the activities of all appointees and ensure transparency and accountability in government,” the Facebook post read.
