The National Investment Bank (NIB) PLC has extended a gesture of goodwill to the Muslim community, donating bags of rice, sugar, and an undisclosed amount of money to support them during the holy month of Ramadan.
The donation, led by NIB’s Managing Director, Dr. Doli-Wura Awushi Abdul-Malik Seidu Zakaria, coincided with Ghana’s 68th Independence Day celebration on March 6, themed “Reflect, Review, and Reset.”

Following the presentation, Dr. Zakaria made a heartfelt appeal to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, for prayers, citing deep internal challenges within the bank.
“Currently, we are in limbo. NIB is polarized beyond repair, and there is no teamwork,” he lamented, stressing the urgent need for divine intervention to restore unity and strength within the institution.
Dr. Zakaria underscored the importance of blending professional expertise with spiritual guidance to navigate the bank’s difficulties, emphasizing that “If we cannot add anything to its value, we should not take anything from it. NIB needs prayers, not just expertise, wisdom, or resources.”

Despite the pressing concerns, he reaffirmed his commitment to implementing strategic measures to steer the bank toward recovery, ensuring seamless operations and long-term sustainability.
He also noted the often-overlooked struggles of institutions and individuals that appear successful, stating, “Often, people assume the rich do not need help, but that is not always the case.”
Dr. Zakaria commended the Chief Imam for his unwavering role in fostering national unity and peace, calling for continued prayers for his good health and longevity.
In response, Sheikh Sharubutu expressed deep gratitude for the donation and pledged his unwavering spiritual support for the new NIB leadership. “My doors are always open,” he assured, reaffirming his commitment to guiding and supporting the institution as it strives to regain stability.

Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu, the Chief Imam’s spokesperson, congratulated Dr. Zakaria on his appointment and commended the bank’s leadership for recognizing the spiritual significance of their journey toward revival.
He assured them that prayers would be offered to help them achieve their vision for NIB’s transformation.
