Ghanaian palm oil producing company, Oro Oil Ghana Limited, has won two awards at the just-ended Ghana Timber and Sustainable Forestry Awards, 2025.
The two awards were: Best Sustainable Palm Oil Producer of the Year for their pioneering contributions towards building and promoting the Palm oil industry. Its CEO, Maxwell Commey, received the award for ‘Sustainable Leadership in Sustainable Agro-Industrial Development Award.
These achievements underscore Maxwell Commey’s leadership qualities, being one of the biggest exporters of palm oil produce in Ghana and Oro Oil’s rapid ascent in Ghana’s agricultural industry.

Oro Oil has sealed a 10-year partnership deal with some Nigerian investors to cultivate over 10,000 hectares of plantation size to create affordable goods, an abundant workforce and a large market through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFCTA).
The Ghana Timber and Sustainable Forestry Awards aim to acknowledge and honour remarkable hardworking individuals and companies serving as inspiration for others.
Held at the Marriott Hotel in Accra, the award seeks to recognise CEOs and other top managers who are breaking barriers and setting a benchmark of excellence in the timber and sustainable forestry sector.
