Coach Maxwell Konadu is rating the second tier of the South African league ahead of the Ghana Premier League.
Konadu, who left Nsoatreman in July 2024, spent six months in South Africa with the Black Leopards, managing 17 games.
He noted that even the second-tier leagues offer better remuneration, attracting top talents and making them more competitive than Ghana’s top flight.
“The second-tier league in South Africa is more competitive than the Ghana league,” Konadu told Graphic Sports.
“They pay their players well, and that has attracted top talent. Even during international breaks, matches in those leagues are suspended because many players get national team call-ups,” Konadu explained.
Maxwell is back in Ghana but hinted at a possibility of returning to South Africa as coach.
“Definitely, I have spoken to several clubs. I only have to wait for the season to end, but for now, we don’t have to go into which clubs are talking to me. So, I may move back next season.”
