Jude Okoye, the elder brother and former manager of the legendary music duo P-Square, has finally been released from custody after spending more than two months with Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The news was met with a wave of celebration, especially from his younger brother, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), who took to Instagram to mark the occasion.
Rudeboy wrote, “Jude is finally out after 2 months+… all their efforts to frustrate his bail have finally collapsed. Welcome home brother @judeengees. And happy birthday.”
While the message was celebratory, its tone hinted at possible tension within the Okoye family, particularly toward Peter Okoye, Jude’s estranged twin brother.
Jude’s release comes after weeks of legal back-and-forth following his arraignment by the EFCC on serious money laundering charges involving $1 million, ₦1.38 billion, and €34,537.59.
A Lagos court, presided over by Justice Alexander Owoeye, had earlier ruled that Jude be granted bail on the condition that he provides two sureties worth ₦100 million each. The court also restricted him from traveling outside Nigeria.
Though he was briefly re-arrested shortly after being granted bail, sources say all conditions have now been met, and he has officially returned to his family.
Jude Okoye’s release marks a significant turn in a high-profile case that has gripped the entertainment community in Nigeria.
