Matthew Amoah Jr, the 15-year-old son of former Ghana international Mathew Amoah, has officially signed his first professional contract with Dutch club Feyenoord.
The commitment will see him through 2027. The promising attacking midfielder has risen through the ranks of the Feyenoord Academy and is poised to continue his development under the club’s guidance, following in his father’s esteemed footsteps.
“I am very proud to have signed my first contract with Feyenoord,” Amoah Jr. expressed. “I have worked towards this wonderful moment all these years, and next season I want to take the next step in my development and hope to be important for my team again by giving assists and scoring goals.”

His father, Mathew Amoah, 43, enjoyed a distinguished career in the Netherlands, representing clubs like Vitesse and NAC Breda. He also made significant contributions on the international stage, scoring 12 goals in 45 appearances for the Ghanaian national team, the Black Stars.
His son, Matthew Amoah Jr began his football journey with Baronie in Breda before joining the Feyenoord Academy at a young age. He has progressed through all the highest youth teams and is set to feature for Feyenoord U17 in the upcoming 2024-25 season.
This milestone signing marks a pivotal moment in Amoah Jr’s burgeoning career as he aims to carve out his own path in professional football, potentially surpassing the achievements of his father, who participated in two World Cup editions and three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
