The Minority has again boycotted parliamentary proceedings in solidarity with Minority Leader, Cassiel Ato Forson, who is allegedly involved in a financial loss of 2.37 million euros in the procurement of ambulances.

The Minority caucus had previously announced that they would not participate in chamber activities on days when their Leader is required to attend court for the ambulance purchase case, opting instead to wait until the court’s daily sessions are over.

The Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, announced on Friday, June 28, an agreement to begin sitting at 3 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which are trial days, in anticipation that court proceedings will conclude to allow Minority members to participate in parliamentary proceedings.

However, as of 3:30 pm on Tuesday, July 2, when the sitting began, the Minority side was empty.
